This week finds Sara has bottled the energy and realizing that the majority of all energy on Earth comes from the sun has put on a space suit and is boarding her spaceship to deliver the energy back at it's source.

This week finds that Sara has made it out of the social studies books and into the realm of science.  Sara has found a little ball of energy that has broken free from the text books and needs to return to its point of origin.  She has to determine what kind of energy it is first, potential, kinetic, chemical, thermal, electric, mechanical, or nuclear so she can take care of the little guy.  She is surrounded with things that use or make energy.

We are back in school after fall break! This lunch bag has Sara needing to find a spot to stick all the components of the Egyptian Chapter of the history book so that the water will flow for the Hanging Gardens! She calls upon the Locker Gnome to store the stuff until they are ready for it in Social Studies.

This week Sara discovers that the chapter in her social studies book on Egypt has been storing their stuff in the aqueduct system of the Hanging Gardens. Now she has to figure out a way to clear up the mess.

Summer Post

Summer time is a little different for me, I don't have the weekly schedule of drawing on lunch bags that the school year typically brings.  I have been drawing, but my main focus is on a project that I can't share quite yet.  In the meantime I have been doing little sketches here and there.  This one is another warm up sketch that got away from me.  It started as a little blue line doodle about 2 or 3 inches tall.  I decided to scan it and I flipped it to see how the proportions where working and saw how terribly off they were, so I scaled it up and started inking.  Once the ink was completed I scanned it again and put it back the way it was originally drawn.  I let Photoshop trace the lines and cleaned up some of the worst offenders but left others alone and composed it on a background.

This was a little doodle of a wooden robot brandishing a wand.

He's a hand drawn and inked image (col-erase pencils and Pitt Pens), cleaned up in PhotoShop and then rendered using copic markers.

This week's lunch bag shows Sara with a book that she found in the Locker Gnome's stash of "lost" books.  It is a book of games that were played by school children a long time ago.  It may be the key to getting the Locker Gnome's eviction revoked.

This is actually the backside of a FED EX box that I drew on and cut down to sketch card size for my son's lunch this week.  He has started reading the Star Wars Expanded Universe series Thrawn Trilogy.  So this week we get Grand Admiral Thrawn.  Pitt Pens, copic markers, and prismacolors.

Math Team Compositions

I had been asked by a friend to do some designs for her son's math team.  Below are some items that I have been working on for her.

The two images above are working parts of another Math team composition.  The idea is to have the results of what Math can do, dealing with science and engineering along with some molecules.  Option 1 is below.
