Dragon Sketch Card

This is the sketch card for my son's lunch, copic markers on illustration board, 2.5"x3.5"

Dragons

I have been a little remiss in updating this blog, I could offer that things were busy, the kids were out of school and we have a new puppy, but they would just be excuses.  Regardless I have still been drawing, and here are a few dragons for presentation.

This Week's Dragon

This week's dragon sketch card for my son's lunch.

Dragon sketch card

These are steps for doing a sketch card for my son.  I typically sketch out a concept on a separate piece of paper in order to get the idea out of my head.  Then I re-draw the image on the card itself.  I let the ink dry fully before erasing the guidelines to avoid smearing them.  It also means that the markers won't smudge the inked lines as well.  The color is added and I go back over some of the line work in order to make some of the lines pop.

Another Dragon

This another image from my son's story for his lunch on Friday. Needless to say, there are dragons.  I don't know how he feels about the images or story, but I am enjoying drawing some dragons for a change.  I may throw in some surprises down the road though!
